I love this book as much as I love Pet. A corrupt mayor and a city council in the pockets of a billionaire put profit above the citizen's needs. There is an active resistance movement. And so much things happens to try to stop it all. This series is so bold and brave. Saying more truth than most adult books out there.
I enjoyed this book. I am supposed that it have a low rating. I read this at the time of the Submarine happed. And now I have what to get on a ship at all anytime soon. The way the ocean is described in this story is filled with gloomy, supernatural horror, yet it is so oddly beautiful and captivating that it makes the tragic finale of the tale leave you all the more speechless.
Black, trans girl lead who is selectively verbal and uses sign language frequently. Jam's best friend has three parents (they are in a polyamorous relationship and one of the parents uses they/them pronouns). And the Entirely black cast. I enjoyed the writing so much and the magical realism aspects.
I love this book. This is my first time reading a Pocket Change collective and I love it. I appreciated the discussion of identity from the perspective of an author with many intersectional identities. Chella took us on a small trip about life, self-discovery and acceptance. Everyone should take this book, read it and learn from it.
I love this book. If you are a cat lover, you have to read this one. The main character name is Katty and her best friend name is Kay. How cute is that. Katty is a cat whisperer and Miles needs a cat sitting for his mother cat name Prince Francis. This story is so cute and wholesome.
I love their genuine, sincere, heartfelt love story. I'm so happy there's no third act break-up in this book. In other romances, it seemed like putting an unnecessary angsty argument between characters turned into a formula full of cliches.
I enjoy the story. I like the world building, the various demons and creatures and spirits. But the main character didn't have a large character development that I wish it did. And no this book is not a romance like some people was saying. I think this is a solid book. I just didn't love it like I was hoping I would.
I loved the characters in this. Although I got their names confused for about the first half, they each had such dynamic personalities, and I grew to love everyone individually. The story is so cool because of time travel and if people can prevent tragedy from striking, and I think it's such a fantastic story of friendship. I love it so much.
I didn't think I was going to love this book like I did. and the ending OMG. I need book 2 now. Staying alive would be a lot easier if Violet didn't have a target on her back for not only being ‘small and frail' but the daughter of the woman responsible for the deaths of many cadet's traitorous parents.
This was a heartwarming story about family, prejudice, cultural differences, and acceptance. Yiachi has a hard time accepting the foreigner in his home, but his open minded daughter Kana loves her new found Uncle Mike and helps convince her dad that Mike is great and to stop seeing things in a bad way. He start to open his mind. I love Yaichi reflection on different scenes and understanding what it means to be gay. Absolutely adored this!
