I wanted to read Wretch by Eric LaRocca because the description sounded interesting.
The book deals with a lot of heavy topics, like grief, parenthood, masculinity, depression, suicide, and death. I enjoy the author's writing style in this novel. It's a fairly realistic slow-burn plot until close to 3/4 of the way through it. I did not feel like it was very creepy until the later chapters.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. I think this book would appeal to most fans of Chuck Palahniuk or Philip K. Dick.
