See allThe book wasn't as captivating as its premise. I felt like the thesis of this book could have been better as an article, rather than a full book. It meanders at times, probably in an attempt to pad out the content.
There are some parts which I appreciate - the history and evolution of the recommendation algorithms, the different signals that are used and how tech companies use them. But after a certain point, it feels like the motif is repeatedly being hammered into you: consuming an algorithmic feed makes everything the same.
For what it's worth, there is a high probability that I might return to this book in the future.
