I love this author's writing (read another book by her) up until the characters start getting ready to consummate the relationship, and admit they want each other. It just felt like we went from “I can't be with her” to the hero expressing obvious interest in her too abruptly. This book, along with the other I read (Duke After Dark, I think?) could benefit from more subtle and nuanced writing and character depth. Why is the hero really interested in her, besides her looks? Why would he even be willing to entertain the idea of risking his reputation? I didn't feel the love, just the lust.
Not for me only because it's enemies to lovers. If you love that, you might like this.
