couldn't read past the second chapter. something about the over-the-top dialogue between two complete strangers felt overly dramatic and fake in a way i couldn't romanticize. i also didn't care for the protagonist or her backstory, and the ending seemed cliché and predictable (which isn't necessarily a problem for me—just not what I was in the mood for this time). still, i'd probably pick another book by the author in the future.
off-topic, but her name being January and his being Augustus had me rolling! LOL laughs in Colleen Hoover's Lily Bloom.
Being inside the mind of an extremely horny teenage boy was too much for me. The level of yearning reached its limits, the slow burning was getting a second degree burn. I liked the writing, it's what kept me engaged this far, but nevertheless I'll pass. Thinking of watching the movie instead.
