I will gladly ignore the sometimes a bit dramatic flowery metaphors when the book is this good

I agree with Grady Hendrix that the scariest things in the world aren't monsters, it's patriarchy and white privilege. But a little less desperate housewives and more vampires would've made this way less a chore to get through.

Sometimes you just read a book that pushes all your buttons, and mine are lesbian necromancers solving riddles and kicking ass apparentely. Not that I'm surprised by that.
