i still don't know what the problem was with their rxship to where they ended up pretending to be different people to try to fix it? but, i mean, you know yeah...
also randomly convincing yourself you're not enough for your wife after 5 YEARS for no good apparent reason is crazy
i was bored almost the entire time, glad this is over
the ending is was only thing that SLIGHTLY saved this book for me, it was so boring i was so close to dnfing at the 60% mark but i held out just because i wouldn't let myself dnf (skill issue)
this book was really slow & i was disinterested up until the book started to pick up which was around 85% (finally), i personally would not recommend this book to anyone.
it just felt like nothing happened the entire book until the mystery was revealed, this book said everything and nothing at all (not to mention the random SA towards the end of the book? it added nothing to the story i'm confused on what was that about.)
3.25
the story felt inconsistent & choppy, & the dynamic between julian and dahlia was confusing after the 40% mark imo. the beginning of the book was so focused on them being “enemies/frienemies” then they randomly started falling in love with each other lmaooo.
i didn't feel connected to them :/ i'm so disappointed because they had so much potential! there were some scenes that made me laugh and that were so cute! i just would've enjoyed it so much more if i could connect with the characters.
it kind of feels like their new dynamic/romance came out of nowhere despite all of their history. the “no strings attached” situation just felt pointless, they could've easily just talked their feelings out at that point & gotten together then but the story dragged on for 200 more pages. there weren't any high stakes besides dahlia being scared to be with julian but like i said a simple conversation could've helped with that.
they kinda seemed like teenagers instead of 30 year olds lol
