3.5 stars rounded up to 4/5! honestly it was better than I thought it was going to be and I was shocked at how much it aligned with the movie. it was interesting to get a different perspective on some of the characters, especially Jacob, who was portrayed so differently compared to the movies. Bella did end up being kind of insufferable from the middle to the end and I just kept thinking that she genuinely needed psychiatric help but Edward works too I guess idk
This book really made me want to go visit New York City!! I really enjoyed the first 60% of the book and then it got a bit hectic for me. I would've loved some of the elements toward the end to be a bit more drawn out, as they felt a bit rushed. The main character, Elle, frustrated me a bit throughout the book, but I did find many qualities about her that were super relatable and I found myself rooting for her! Do I feel like the book is a bit overhyped? Yeah. But I did still enjoy the story and appreciated all the little details given to describing all the locations- made me feel like I was there!
This was the most terrifying book I've ever read. I highly recommend it but with CAUTION because I think that what I learned from this book will absolutely stick with me forever. Annie Jacobsen is truly an outstanding writer, which really adds to the intensity of this book. I can't imagine how much work she had to put in to gather all the information and facts and then put it all together in a scenario format. 5/5 no doubt
I reallllyyyy didn't think the romance genre would be for me, but I'm actually so surprised with how much I liked this book! This book really had it all- I laughed, I cried, and I was rooting for a happy ending :)
Thanks to all who recommended I take a stab at it- you were right and I am happier for it!
