Why this book?

I read this book in 3rd grade book club. It started my beautiful friendship with my best friend that has lasted to this day. This series was great and allowed my imagination to run wild as a young kid.

Why this book?

Why this book?

Another great adventure book by Jules Verne. Was high recommended to me by my teachers and so, I read it. I distinctly remember it taking me quite a while to work through the book. Once I was finished, I felt accomplished and deeply satisfied.

I was very proud of finishing this book a kid. I loved the swan's perserverence and adversity through the face of challenge. It stood for so much for me at the time and was my top favorite book of all time up until I discovered the fantasy genre.

One day, my school's librarian came up to me and pulled me into the library's back room. A special room where all the newest books came in before they were put into the system and out on the shelves. She recommended this book and encouraged me to read it. This book is what started my love for the mythology world.
