Copy/pasted from BLC: I have zoomed through this book like there's no tomorrow lol I have always enjoyed Schwab's writing and I think this book truly is evidence of that! The great use of repetition and details. At first I did really enjoy the quarrel between Luc and Addie, I feel like it got slightly dull (?) in the second half of the book. That being said, I did love seeing Addie go through the years and her experiences. I thought she would end up being with Henry by the end but I love that she is using Luc's strategies against him. Though, kind of like (book name)[b:Gallant|58064046|Gallant|V.E. Schwab|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1635862579l/58064046._SX50_.jpg|61346994], I feel like it wasn't fulfilling at the end of the book T_T Ughhh I guess I will just dream about Addie and Henry now. Still enjoyed it!
Copy/paste from BLC: Ahhhhhh!! I finished the brick!! 5 stars from me.
Although the intimidating choker size, confusing beginning with repeated rereads (lol), endless names and information, I'm happy to say I've read it and thoroughly enjoyed it! I loved the world-building around it, dragon lovers vs slayers, the characters, and the way that it was written. I remember seeing a comment from others, and I would agree–the descriptions are not crazy, disruptive, and give enough to consume and visualize. I'm happy there wasn't terrible heartbreaks at the end, I'm not sure what I would do with myself if there were lol, though, the moments of Truyde still lingers with me. At a young age, her aggressive and head-on spirit to ally with the opposing side would end up being true. I'm sure Jannart would have been proud to have a granddaughter so willing to learn. I might have constant dreams of what it would have been like with Niclays, Jannart, and Truyde. TT__TT I did think Niclays was going to be a cool uncle at the beginning, but boy was I wrong lol I wished the book was also a little longer to finally see Meg and Lintley's marriage, and Loth and Donmata's relationship.
4.5 rounded up; My second book (first book officially, since [b:Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch 12067 Good Omens The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch Terry Pratchett https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1615552073l/12067.SY75.jpg 4110990] was also by [a:Terry Pratchett 1654 Terry Pratchett https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1235562205p2/1654.jpg]) by Neil Gaiman, and it was wonderful! Richard's kind gesture got him spiraling to another world. Meeting new people, encountering loss, pain, and all sorts of feelings that he couldn't/wouldn't feel at home. I enjoy Neil Gaiman's way of explaining and describing things (sometimes makes me a bit squeamish), and a bit of humor here and there makes it all great. Excited to start my next book by him!
I can't decide if it's a 4 or 5! I loved the cast for this audiobook and I enjoyed the various actors, background sounds, and pacing! And the fact that Neil Gaiman is narrating is also a plus. Some of the episodes were more intriguing and fun than others, some more disturbing than others.
This does also include many trigger warnings, so I would suggest looking those up before entering the Sandman world.
Some episodes I commented on in BLC:
Episode 6 (24 Hours): Gosh this was a very gruesome episode.. if it gets adapted into the show, I don't think I can watch it because of all the descriptions, gore, and death. Episode 8 (The Sound of Her Wings): How hilarious it is to find Dream in "casual" wear feeding pigeons! I found it interesting that Death is so perky and their relationship to be fun!Episode 10 (Man of Good Fortune): I think this might be my favorite episode! The idea of taking death away and Dream was the one to come back every 100 years, and Gaiman narrating what the pub looked like each time was also interesting. For Dream to admit Hob is his friend was cute and heartwaming.Episode 16 (Lost Hearts): I'm happy Rose is alive, Gilbert was so sweet and for Unity to take Rose's vortex was; and ugh, to know that her friend was a victim of the killings in the diner T__T
Same as BLC post; 4~4.5 for me! I loved the storyline/plot and the world building! After the first death, it hit me hard because it reminded me too much of Gundam (personally Gundam 00 for me), and that feeling is all too familiar T__T I loved the random comic relief here and there, mostly from M-Bot, gotta love an AI who's spewing out "unpleasant adjectives!" (p. 489) LOL I've sped through mostly with the goal to see where M-Bot's origins are but I'm left with unanswered questions ;-; Kind of interesting that Krells are really prison watchers, and they're actually afraid now. I wonder where this will all go now, now that Spensa has some control over her power/'defect'. Also Cobb. "Cobb is flying M-Bot" will happily forever be engrained in my mind. I hope Cobb will get over the fears of flying one day and maybe chat with M-Bot about mushrooms or something. That sounds like an awesome duo that I'd love 1000%!
I picked this up immediately after [b:The House in the Cerulean Sea 45047384 The House in the Cerulean Sea T.J. Klune https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1569514209l/45047384.SY75.jpg 62945242] and it did not disappoint! A unique way to cover the five stages of grief, and the things we realize after rather than what's in front of us at in the present. The character development of Wallace was great and how he changed with the time spent with the people of Charon. Loved the little Reaper Manual for Mei as well!
This was such a lovely story about the children being stigmatized by society the prejudice against them. The character development of Linus was also great. Many meaningful quotes and thoughts by Arthur and Linus! (tabbed like crazy and I usually don't!) It made me warm and tearful at some parts, I can relate when kids are just seen by what stereotypes are given to them and people don't try to learn or understand them. The ending was perfect (´ ⌣ `)

I actually kind of enjoyed the writing at first and though it's kind of dramatic (or maybe really dramatic) but it gave this big impact, but when it's repeated so frequently, it becomes tiring. Also Ren ghosting Cathy and Cathy's letters were the opposite of enjoyment. Ren's narrator made it kind of interesting to listen to but.. I am over it lol also the synopsis talks about blood but menstrual blood and all that was not what I was expecting. TMI
