alright y'all, i'm going on a little rant sorry
tw??? SA
i couldn't finish this book. i do not care about a villain who is a rapist.
it was SO UNCOMFORTABLE to read about SA in a kids/teen book, and it lasted for 10 pages????? hell no.
maybe it got “resolved” later in the book, but i don't really care.
i'm just going to say i read the entire book and move on.
alright i definitely liked it better than the first one, and it was a pretty good book overall.
i liked how it introduced a lot of good characters that added to the story in really good ways. the only criticism i have is that we didn't really see that much of victor or eli in this book, which disappointed me.
but yeah, really loved the concept and story! sometimes it was a bit boring tho
i'm a real sucker for morally grey/villain characters, so i really liked this book
the only bad thing was it got a little slow in the middle, and some of the character motives didn't make sense to me. that's the only negatives tho, overall i really loved it
i know i give 5 stars to a lot of books but i REALLY mean it for this one.
(btw, the second book in the series was over a 6 week wait at my library
I loved this book so, so much.
you could tell that the author knew what they were talking about, and it felt like it was really coming from the heart.
lots of times i was saying “wow, this perfectly describes how i feel about my gender” and i think many people can agree
anyways, without the personal stuff, still loved the sorry and the fun little plot twists.
one negative thing, i despise love triangles
“Zoya of the lost city. Zoya of the garden. Zoya bleeding in the snow. You are strong enough to survive the fall”
I DID NOT KNOW I NEEDED THIS BOOK IN MY LIFE UNTILL NOW. lots of peoples say that this book is boring, but I found it so fun and exciting. Zoya is 100% my favorite character
GO TOO HELL THE DARKLING
“Even in the Future the Story Begins with Once Upon a Time”
loved the retelling of cinderella in a cool way! Cinder is a great female character and I actually like the romance!
only negative is two things
- transphobic joke??? I couldn't tell if it was or not
- writing felt very basic. not always a bad thing, just wanted a little bit more
(3.5)
This book just didn't do it for me. had a great start and middle, but towards the end it got confusing and jumped around too much.
a positive of this book was the short chapters and writing style. the short chapters were very easy to read and the writing made it feel like I was actually there
that's the only positives tbh, was mostly bored
this book felt so unnecessary and forced. Even though I love Day and June they DID NOT need to be together in the end. I felt like the author only wrote this book too make the fans happy, which isn't always a good thing.
The only good thing was Eden, pretty funny and was enjoyable. Wanted more of him!
“I Would have come for you. And if I couldn't walk, I'd crawl to you, and no matter how broken we were, we'd fight our way out together-knives drawn, pistols blazing. Because that's what we do. We never stop fighting.”
If I could talk about the Crows all day I would, like this is the best book I've ever read. All I really have to say is that you have to read this book for yourself to experience it.
“Crows remember human faces. They remember the people who feed them, who are kind too them. and the people who wrong them too. They don't forget. They tell each other who watch after and who too watch out for.”
“If the universe was static, I could stand anywhere in this world and I swear my line of sight would end on you. I swear i'd find you in the dark.”
READ THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW OMG IT WILL NOT DISAPOINT!
The main characters felt so refreshing it was unreal! Crier and Alya were some of the best characters ever and I love them so much.
This book was recommend to me because of the lesbian enemies-to-lovers romance, but this book was so much more than that. I loved the world and story so much its crazy.
