I was not expecting to like this as much as I did. I thought it was a love triangle and I'm so excited that it wasn't. I'm a sucker for an MMF romance with plot so this was perfect for me especially given it being spooky season.

Since discovering this series, obsessed doesn't feel like enough to describe how i feel and the way ive grown to love these characters so much. The third installment of this series is no different from its previous counterparts and is just as binge worthy as the rest of the series.
I just finished and am still processing my feelings on all this so I'll have to come back but this series is just chefs kiss and i cannot wait for the next installment!

I feel like if I would have binged this immediately after reading the series I would have liked it more tbh. While I love tension and I enjoyed the plot, it did feel like things were rushed and at the end I wasn't feeling satisfied in the way I expected it to be. I think it's partially because we sort of go these characters at the end of their love story so it just feels like I'm missing something? Idk, I could have done without it at this point but for someone currently picking up the series, you might enjoy it more

Ok so I've been following this series since book one and can I just say I love how much the plot has thickened? I love how easy it is to get sucked into the world and I'm so excited for the next book! If you want a binge worthy why choose series featuring monsters and fae this one is for you!

Like most people out here, I'm a sucker for retelling. Make that a little mermaid retelling but with pirates and oh wait, she's actually a man eating siren? I was sold before I finished reading the synopsis.
This was one of those books that you want to savor while you read but also you want to devour it in one sitting. I loved the main characters but I wish we had gotten a bit more from the side characters. The romance, as usual, was on point.
This world (aka the Karina-verse) has a super interesting supernatural element to it and I really hope we get more books exploring it!

Wow! It seems I'm reentering my vampire era eighths series and I'm not mad! The book picks up where the first left off and wow does a lot happen! Like the first book I was immediately sucked in and the plot quickly developed. While I did enjoy reading this story and am excited for the rest, I will say I'm getting tired of the constant miss-communication between Lukas and Briar and the story line with Clarissa felt very cringe.
Over all tho I feel like it's important to know I basically binged this book so I'm really interested in seeing where this series goes!
Interesting start!
Honestly there was a lot that felt unexplained to me while reading this but not enough to make me DNF. I found the characters interesting and the plot was quick enough to keep my attention but some parts of the story felt a bit underdeveloped. for example, the hatred from the other guards didn't really feel justified and seemed weird. Also, i don't think it was ever fully explained as to why magic was banned and what the marks mean?
All that said i will be reading the next one as my interest has been peeked!
At this point I think I'm just one of those people who loves everything Karina puts out. This was such an interesting story to read and you really don't need to have read the other dark eyes books to fall into this (tho I totally recommend you do first). Excited to see what comes next for this world!
