Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!
Ok ive been thinking on this series and there is a lot to like but also a lot to consider. I enjoyed the story a lot and i love that its a fleshed out stand alone but there were a lot of very cringy parts to it and i can understand why people would def over that. If you can get over those parts tho, its a fun read!
If you want a book with:
✅ Reluctant Alies
✅ Unique World/Magic
✅ Stand Alone Romantasy
✅ Spice
✅ Fae
Then you may love this book!
I cannot begin to describe how much I loved this book and I cannot wait for the next one! The plot is fast paced and fun, the world building is interesting, and I just love when I'm immediately invested in a book like this.
Our FMC sneaks into a ball where the princes are looking for their mate fully intending to fade into the background and just enjoy the free food/vibes only to be picked as their potential mate.
There's a mystery to her missing sister, hidden identity (she wasn't supposed to be at the ball), and obviously a lot of great romance!
I do love jade Presley's books so if you liked any of her other books there's a good chance you'll enjoy this one!
Wow. Ok this was phenomenal. One of the best stories I've read this year and I'm so excite To continue. If you're some one who likes interconnected stand alones, this is for you. I usually find that interconnected stand alones are never long enough to fully develop the main characters that are being portrayed but this one does a fantastic job of leaving you satisfied with the love story but still interested in the over arching plot!
Amy really doesn't miss on these MMF romances, let me tell you! I really enjoyed this book and I'm assuming this series is going to be more of a series of interconnected stand alones which is always fun! My one major gripe with this book was Ronan being Liria's guardian/her dad's best friend gave me a bit of an ick but I powered through it because I loved the bitten and bound series so much that I had to give this book a fair chance. Excluding that tho, I loved everything else about this book! The magic was unique and while I still don't totally get the tattoos and their significance, I did like how the ruler needs to be worthy/strong enough for the magic. The characters are also so fun and I really loved Sigurn's German Shepard energy along with the fun dialogue that he created with Ronan and Liria. Im excited to see what comes next in the series!
Thank you to GoodGirlsPR for sending me an arc!
3.5/5 stars
So this is the 4th book in the series of interconnected stand alone hockey romances and I def suggest picking up the rest of the series if you haven't! I loved the characters and this series as a whole does lean more into cozy romance vibes but I was def left a little wanting for more plot by the end. I also wish we could have gotten more of them all dating in their real every day lives like we got in the other books. This could just be a me problem but there were so many moments where I was waiting for the drama and it didn't happen and I was just like AHHHHH. The characters are all so wholesome and the banter is so great and I'm not sure if it's because we've added in a 3rd guy this time but it all felt a tad bit rushed, especially as we hit the climax of the story.
Over all it's a super fun and spicy read and I think the hockey romance girlies will enjoy it as a light cozy read.
Thank you to del rey for sending me an ARC!
Ok wow! As a fan of The Bridge Kingdom, I was super excited when I saw this book. A Viking fantasy romance? Yes please! I loved the magic and the incorporation of Norse mythology/gods into the story and the fast pacing making this a super enjoyable read. I did find the main character a bit immature and brash at times but I'm hoping this is indicative of more character development throughout this series. I also loved the build up of the tension/romance, the forced proximity was def chefs kiss
Over all, this was a 5 star read for me and I'm insanely excited to see where this is going in the next book!
Thank you to the nerd fam for sending me an ARC!

So I have mixed feeling on this book but I think it has more to do with the writing style then with the actual story itself. There's a lot of back and forth that was really confusing to me for most of the book which I think was the point but i wasn't much of a fan mostly because it made the timeline confusing for me. I usually inhale books like this so I think this was the main contributing factor as to why this took me longer then normal to get through. The magic and world building is very unique and interesting and the plot was enough to keep me hooked so I will def be picking up the next book
I honestly would like to speak to someone who read and enjoyed this book because I really don't get it. I felt like it had no real plot or conflict and was just very repetitive in the back and forth time jumps (which I also didn't find added value to the story?)
Idk I didn't feel connected to any of the characters and the romance was very much lacking.
I would have DNFed it if it wasn't for the fact I was reading this for a book club
