What a great ending to a great story! I had been saving one dark window to read closer to the release of this book and was so excited to have been approved for an ARC! The story as a whole has so much depth without being confusing and I loved the magic system used in this world. Duologies are underrated in my opinion so I love finding one that has all the things I love about a series while still keeping a story concise and to the point. Def a 5 star read for me!

I was sent an arc of this in exchange for my honest opinion which I super appreciate but this one was not for me. This is a spinoff of another series and the book starts off by saying you don't have to have read the other series to understand this one but I felt like I needed to. It felt like a lot of the world building was glossed over and I was very lost in the sauce for the 20% I did read. It was not enough to interest me into reading the other series first as well.
Thank you to Netgalley for sending me a sample ARC!
This book is dark on another level. It reminds me of Lore meets The Hunger Games with magic. Honestly, im not sure if this book is for me, its interesting but so far not interesting enough for me to seek out the rest. I'm not sure which character I'm supposed to care about but that might be the point? It told in several points of view which is interesting but also confusing to make a complete assessments on the book. If you are into something darker this might be for you but I don't think it's my kind of story
Thank you to the nerd fam for sending me and arc to review!

Man i wanted to like this one, i really did but it is not my vibe. I'm not really invested in any of the characters and the dialogue flow between the MFC and her friends feels so off to me. Im finding both of the main characters rather surface level and i just dont think i can keep reading at this point. I honestly am not sure what the plot of this book even is other then her falling for her friend's hot mysterious neighbor? There just hasnt been enough there to keep me invested
At this point, i honestly just dont think its for me and ive been trying to finish a while now but i keep putting it down to finish other books only to come back, read a chapter, and put it down again.
I really wanted to like this book, like really badly. I loved the synopsis and everything seemed to point to exactly the kind of books i love. Unfortunately, i only got 25% through this book before DNFing it. I really loved the concept of the book, but it was way too cringy for my pallet.
I think if this book had been told from multiple points of view i would have enjoyed it more. The interactions of the MC and her brothers/love interest just felt really off and awkward. Idk, maybe this book just wasnt written for me.
