This book was amazing. Full stop. Not only did I get COMPLETELY sucked into this world of hope and unapologetic love, I was moved in so many ways on a deep breadth of topics. I don't think I will ever not recommend this book. 5 stars.

Though some scenes, dialogue, and the puzzles involve stretching your imagination just a teensy bit, I found the book enjoyable and sped through it. I'm hooked enough to know I'll read the sequel, but am a bit worried about the conclusion at the end of this all.

I enjoyed the book a lot in the moment. It had scenes that really captured those awkward feelings of love between two people. But after more time has passed, I think my feelings have become more like-warm. It was a quick, pleasant read, but not much more.

I read this a few years ago and it was great! Need to re-read and write a better review.

dnf @ 50%. This book was not for me. I get what it's trying to do, I'm aware of the different levels, but it was just boring. The only dread I felt was when I flipped to a page packed to the brim with run-on sentences.

dnf @ 15%. Don't think i'll be visiting any other books by this author, it's just really dry dialogue between characters with no stakes or anything particularly moving the story forward.

Dnf @8%. Really annoying dialogue, especially lines from the mom and dad. Also the “my dad would never hurt my mom but i scanned her arm for bruises” line was a huge wtf.
