The typical dystopian future with enough of a New Twist without it being old hat! I always love when a book immediately makes you want to read the next book, which is what happened.
Every time I think “SMG isn't going to replicate the wonder I felt reading Mexican Gothic,” but immediately felt pulled back in. Her characters suck me in right away. She is a gem to literature.
While this wasn't my favorite read, it really did come together at the end and made me want to keep going. Fantasy books without maps are fun. Cool and neat!
