What an engrossing read! It's shocking to see how similar things are now than in the 1970s. So well-researched and well-written. I can't wait to go back and read his other books!

A shocking look into what happened in the House in the early-mid 2020s. Despite being jumping around chronologically and at times repetitive, it was an insightful look into some truly awful people.

Conflicted about this book. It highlighted some important and shocking details about Biden but it also seems to revel in it a bit too much. Either way, it was informative and well-told.

PS: Jake's "impressions" of Biden, Schumer, Obama and more are...interesting!

Truly fascinating account of some major figures in the late 1980s leading into the 1990s and how it shaped where we are currently. I loved the deep dive into individual stories while maintaining a clear thematic through line.

Engrossing read about a fascinatingly flawed founder.

Enjoyable deep dive into the history and sus actions of Amazon. At times it felt repetitive, but it was still an informative and shocking read.

I really enjoyed this deep dive into the history of Uber and flew through it!

Disclaimer: Fantasy isn’t usually my go-to genre, so I came into this one a bit outside my comfort zone. I think fans of the genre will likely connect with it more than I did.

I had a hard time fully engaging with the story and getting immersed in the characters and plot. The religious motifs didn’t really resonate with me, and the climax felt a bit rushed—the major conflict was wrapped up so quickly after a long build-up. That said, I can appreciate the ambitious worldbuilding and the themes the author was trying to explore. It just ultimately wasn’t a match for me.

Fantastic account of the meteoric rise of Facebook, the complicated questions it faced and the negligent people leading the way.

Started off slow but then really ramped up. The extended podcast of my dreams!

I absolutely ADORED Project Hail Mary, so it is a complete shock at how much I disliked Artemis. The main character was insufferable and cringe, while the plot felt compressed and drawn out at the same time. I feel bad writing such a critical review, but Project Hail Mary set such a high bar!

Oh also, Rosario Dawson as the audiobook narrator COMPLETELY took me out. What a miss.

It gets pretty in the weeds but it is a really solid guide to understanding the harms extreme wealth brings to our society and how to fix it!

With this being my first foray into short stories, this book has left me curious to read more! I quite enjoyed the first three stories but the last three really took me out of it. Even still, I had a good time!

While I’ve played a few Blizzard games, it was really interesting learning more about their origins and ups & downs. A very quick and entertaining read!
