What to say about this first book. I was engaged from the very beginning. Robin Hobb is a very talented writer. I loved the world she built in book one and look forward to more as I I continue the series.

Fittz is a great character as the use of first person narrative works so well with this book. There were times when I had to ask questions as things happened outside of the narrative. But here is the thing, that is the point, this is Fitz story and if he wants to gloss over certain aspects of the story it is done on purpose.

Seriously cannot wait for the next book. I do need to wait as I need this fester a little longer

Simply a fantastic book.

I would have rated this higher if the character of Joanna wasn't so grating. Every chapter she appeared in just felt like a chore.

Very interesting perspective. I liked the context of this book it was perfect for reflection during the Lenten season. Granted you may not be a Christian and this book may not be for you. But if you want a view into what the season of Lent means this is a great read

Between Two Fires

What a fantastic book. It had everything angels, demons, knight, monks, the plague.

This book reads like an old epic tale like Beowulf or The Iliad and the Odyssey or even Star Wars! There is a quest with obstacles along the way.

Set in medieval France during the plague a disgraced Knight, Thomas, finds a girl in an abandoned farm house. She is sure she needs to get to Avignon but she does not know why. What follows is a journey full of adventure. Great read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read. Christopher Buehlman is an excellent author with good pacing, character building and a bit of horror.

This book deserves its acclaim.

I did not realize it would turn to Christian lit.

I go to church and have no issues with religion but waiting until about 75% of the book and then getting hit over the head and not relenting is a chore.

Seriously all of the sudden the druids are like ok I am good with Jesus let's convert more.

Why oh why this book just came to a screeching halt. I was actually enjoying it. I just could not take it in this book.

This was a really good read and I can see what all the praise is for. I felt a little disappointed by the ending I think I was looking for something more grandious. But I think I feel this way because of the way books are written today with more action.

This is ultimately the story of how Paul Maud-Dib becomes the prophet and becones the ruler of a planet. I am eagerly awaiting the othe books in this series. I do not believe that the main charecters from this book are in future volumes. This is a book about Maud-Dib while the series is about Arrakis.
