See allI had high expectations for this book, but ultimately, the expectations did not come true. I admit, it may have been a case of having an idea that this book was about something it was not, but I really felt like Grossman dropped the ball in a few spots.
The most intriguing part of the book was a hinted relationship between two characters, but it never came to be. I felt this was a missed opportunity, and would've given a book filled with nostalgia some much needed heart.
The other downside to the book? The entire thing basically felt like a 383 page “Let's Play.”
Not what I was looking for.
That being said, it was well written and had some redeeming spots. I did enjoy the flashbacks. Otherwise? Disappointing.
