This book is trigger material for most, so be warned. The author does not give a shit. Which is cool, to me. Very horrific little tale. The kids minds think more like teenagers than 6 year olds, though.

Wonderful book. Wonderful writer.

A good folk horror

I really enjoyed reading this and look forward to the other books in this trilogy. Folk horror is one of my favorite horror tropes and England really came in with a good start to the trilogy.

Another great book from one of my favorite authors. If you haven't read Compton, you are missing out. Southern noir at its best.

This book holds a special place in my heart. Noir at it's gritty best.

I absolutely loved this tale. So very much. This author came up with a brilliant way to deal with his emotions. This story was so very heartfelt. Some may not enjoy tales written like this, but I fell in love.

Loved this collection

I have always searched and read everything Wesley has written. This collection was wonderful. I love the way this guy's mind works. The last story being my favorite, but I also like He Loves Me Not and all the others. Highly recommend this gem.

This is a horrific story of what three girls and a young man went through. Absolutely terrible. I can't fathom allowing it to go on so long.
Anyway, as far as writing goes, the story was lacking or just could have been told a wee bit better.

I cannot believe more people have not read this author. If you enjoy Donald Ray Pollack or David Joy, Ron Rash...please give Sheldon a read. So proud that he is from my neck of the woods.

I really enjoyed this book and it definitely kept my attention. This is a new series for me and I hope it continues to be as entertaining. I really like the characters and how there is a subtle flow of humor through the stories. Starting the second book now :)

Scary

These kinds of books always scare me because the horror inside them is real. The things that happen could happen. They way humans behave is real. This is definitely an eye opener.

Wow. Just wow..Weird but delicious.

This book was amazing. Horror/magical realism/ troubled pasts/ circus background. What more could you ask for? I loved this book and am surprised more people don't talk about it.

One of the best short story collections I've read in ages! Man, this dude can write. I'm reading everything he writes.

Just finished! Great book. Reminiscent of It and The Summer That Melted Everything. Really enjoyed this book, but it is super long. Starts out slow, but introduces you to characters. This book is totally different than Chbosky's last novel. It's indeed a horror/fantasy.

Once again another book by this wonderful author that delves deep into the human psyche. Pulled at my heart strings, made me think, gave me hope where you would think there were none.

Oh how I love this series. Twin Peaks/Twilight Zone vibe.

This was a dark tale about a circus family and all it's dysfunctional glory. While it was disturbing, it was impossible to put down. This book is for those who like stories of a bleak, dark nature. I enjoyed it very much.
