Left off on chapter 18. Now..I love Connor and Rose, but there was just some stuff in this book that didn't sit right with me. I may try again in the future, but it's definitely not promised.. cause this book frustrated me. (the 30% that I read, at least.)
*9/25/23 - I mean.. at least I can say I tried. I just don’t think it’s me though 😔
Not even gonna lie, this was a very hard book to get through — for many reasons. I couldn't help but hurt for Char. Seeing her go through such a transformation made me so happy. I loved this book so much.

Reread #1: ♾️ stars. Still hurt to read as much as the first time. Forever one of my favorite books
[9.75 stars ⭐️.] Whew. Tbh, I don't exactly know what I was expecting while reading this book. I had been wanting to read this for a while, ever since the first time I saw it, I guess. It kind of squeezed my heart at certain moments. There were also time where I just felt so bad for not only the author, but his family and their situation as well. I don't think that I could pinpoint a favorite part, I liked most of it honestly. The writing was different..idk, I think it was..really imaginative. I love(d) his writing style, it's so unique. I noticed while reading that I pictured the scenes/chapters while reading it, which made the story 10x better. There were sad parts which is expected in a memoir like this. Overall, I highly enjoyed this book and am definitely looking forward to reading more from the author.
This book was a collection of short stories. Were they short? Yes. But, were they also long (in terms of the topics)? Yes. I liked all these stories, each one of them drew my attention. They all had one thing in common, sitting, I found this really interesting, because the author took something that most people don't really think about (daily, I guess) and she turned it into such deep stories. I honestly don't think I could choose just one as a favorite, they were all so different but on the flip side, they were the same (which isn't a bad thing at all.) I just really liked these stories, they were just so...just that...SO.
*♾️/5.
This was an excellent story. We follow Tiger who lost her mother, and now has to live without her mother. I genuinely appreciated this story. The author shows you how the foster care system really is, how life after losing someone could possibly be. I found myself having sympathy for Tiger. It was literally one thing after another for her.
Another thing I loved about this story was how well-written all of the characters were. There wasn't one boring person in this book. They were all filled with personality. This made me feel more connected to not just the characters, but the book as a whole.
I'm very appreciative of this book. This is because the author doesn't try to sugarcoat what really happens in the foster system, she doesn't sugarcoat how some parents treat their children. As painful as the above is, she was real about it, and that's something that needs to be talked about, painful or not. Because outside of this book it is also someone else's history.
I honestly have no idea why, but I had some high expectations for this book. I literally have never even heard of this book (or author.) I think when I read the synopsis it appealed to me, but..the expectations were high. The character I liked the most was Luke. Julie..she irritated me (like 75% of the time.) I don't really have much else to say, but that it was an ok book.
*♾/5. I loved this book so much. I adored Marco & Issac's friendship. It was really refreshing to see that they were complete opposite, but were the best of friends. Not saying it's uncommon, just saying that I enjoyed seeing it. Another thing I loved was how the sports aspect of the book wasn't boring. I wouldn't say I hate sports, but it has to hook me from the start if I want anything to do with it..and I feel like this book did it perfectly. I honestly loved this book so much. It was amazing.
Going into this book, I really didn't have any expectations if I'm being honest, but for whatever reason I throughly enjoyed this. I think it helped that I loved both main characters. Rob & Maegan's dynamic was the best. I also liked Owen & Samantha. They're some of the best side characters ever. Overall, this book really hooked me.
*♾/5. Wow, wow, wow. Well.. I'm officially done with the addicted series now (unfortunately.) I am..very much proud of Lily & Lo. They have come SO FAR. They have one of the best dynamics ever. It was definitely a joy to read this series. I.. am just so shocked at how far they've come. They've went from enabling each other to recovery to opening up more to letting themselves have a family to starting their own (
I..am very much confused? I honestly don't know whether I liked or disliked this book. There were moments I liked and disliked. Idk, I just felt really bored because this is basically just Lilo's point of view of Kiss the Sky and Hothouse Flower. I'm still very much proud of lily & lo though.. that'll never change. It definitely did take me some time to finish, and I hated that. Sooo.. I really don't know. It's gonna be left unrated because I just feel really conflicted.
This was a ride, for sure. I still don't like Ryke. Have I come to appreciate him? Yes. Do I like him? No. Daisy Calloway on the other hand. I love her! In the beginning, she was kinda eh to me considering she wasn't seen much, but now..I saw how strong & courageous she was. When she described what her friends did to her..my heart literally broke for her. She definitely deserved better. I don't like Raisy..and I most likely never will, so yeah there's that. It wasn't the best book at all, but there were some good parts tbf. Honestly, the only people who made this book bearable for me was Daisy, Lilo & Connor & Rose. So..yeah there's that.
