So... I knew this going into another Stirling book. He takes an incredibly cool idea... and just... grinds it into dust with so much detail and repetition. There's only so many times I can read a character's thought process about a technological innovation that's going to do so and so and I get it, I get the idea, seriously, but my god man, learn to edit this down. I loved the Emberverse series until like book 200 or so and I *dearly* hope this series doesn't make the same mistake. I'll read book three of course, but after I'll probably just find a summary.

Very interesting story, but way overly long. Could have been cut a good 50%.

Picked it up because of the TV show and I'm glad I did. It was a great read I devoured quickly. (Well, quick for me.)

I read this book for the first time at least thirty years ago and I remember it being a really good book. I was in no way prepared for how incredibly good this book still is. Out of all the books I've recently reread, I'm so happy I chose this one.

Every book in this series continues to be absolutely incredible.

So. Damn. Good!

Book 2 of the series and it just gets better and better. So damn good!

I read this book as a teenager, maybe even younger, and holy smokes was it not as good as I remember.

Incredible!

Incredible end to a great series!

Really wanted to like this but it was incredibly ... I don't know. Boring, dense, weird to be weird? I haven't read Moorcock since high school and had very fond memories of Elric.

I absolutely loved this. Even as an avid gamer, I'd say at least 50% of the games here were new to me.

I really enjoyed the setup/universe/etc. JB kinda throws you into the deep end trying to figure out the “rules” of this universe, but it never felt frustrating or overly confusing.

It was good... I guess? I think I was expecting something as impactful as The Handmaid's Tale and frankly, this isn't it. It does give you more information about Gilead and that's ok I guess, but outside of that, it isn't that's great. To be honest, I think you could read a Wikipedia summary and get just as much out of it. The best I can say about it is that makes me want to read The Handmaid's Tale again.

Pretty good, although I think it could have been trimmed by a hundred pages or so. I don't normally mind the length of King's books, but in this case the entire climax felt a bit long winded.

Not as good as I remember.

Absolutely one of the coolest books I've read. I loved it!

Gave up 300 or so pages in. A real disappointment.

Absolutely incredible.

I'm loving this little series as a continuation of the Axis of Time series. Short and sweet.

Pretty disappointed. I really love Mieville, even when his stories don't necessarily come together, they are wonderfully written, but this one felt like a complete mess. Maybe I just didn't get what he was going for here.

Woot! Another damn good Star Wars book!
