I knew it was going to happen, but it still broke me...

I'm just glad my book was out of the way while I was weeping...

5 stars through and through. What a journey, man. What a journey...

Besides the cliche clumsy but sexy-thought-she-doesn't-know-it heroine, and the obnoxiously hot and perfect man (tbh I fell for Ethan too), I actually sat through this book which is surprising as I don't usually like stories that have no fantastical elements to them.

It was such a fun read nonetheless - especially the banter, which I dig a lot. I love enemies to lovers tropes and this one is no exception!

And also the proposal is just so them - I laughed and cried along!

Such a sweet little book. I have always loved Matilda since I was a kid and realised I have not read the book. It's not very hard to go through. Such a good light read.

I think it's time to re watch the movie 🤔

I honestly have only felt anger up until Chapter 36 and then just sadness after that....

As always loved this book and I really don't have much to say about it (maybe I have exhausted it all out in the progress statuses lol).

It did kind of feel like there were a lot of things that had happened, but also not much progress? Maybe I was expecting for a lot of Voldemort in this book.

PS.
Cho surely does move on fast doesn't she?

You know the feeling of waking up to such a foreign land where you know nothing about? That's what it felt like reading the first few chapters. Like I wanted to keep reading in case they get explained and introduced later on, but they weren't. I found myself learning all about them by googling (all thanks to the grishaverse fan web page).

All that aside, I did love the world that this book launched me into. There were parts that were dry and boring but there were parts that definitly caused me to read all night. I did enjoy reading this book and can't wait to read the next to find out what happens next.

The main reason why I gave a three star (besides the cliches and moments of me being greatly annoyed by Alina), was because I just didn't feel attached to Alina that made me want to root for her or felt protective of her. If anything, I wanted Mal to be safe and alive until the end and I was ready to fight anyone who would cause him harm.

This book, overall, was a great read and I am so excited to start the next. Here's to hoping I would start caring more about Alina than Mal on the second book...

This book might just be what I needed after a friendship breakup. I love how Cleo's character has grown throughout the book, where she realised her own mistakes and how she was written as flawed as she is. Because that's how we all are - flawed.
It was nice to see how they somehow had a closure - one of their own - at the end.

The last chapters were hard to read if I were to be honest, though very hard to put down nonetheless.

I said while reading towards the end, how Crouch as a father had chosen the better good by imprisoning his own son. It was not that hard to believe that he succumbed to his wife's wishes. I was wrong to believe that his son was wrongly accused. The last few chapters made sure to clarify that. It all became so emotional that there came to a point I couldn't see a word because of the tears in my eyes. Reading through the books made me so attached to the characters that I am dreading the read through the rest knowing what is about to happen, after having watched the movies.

I am giving this book a 5 star rating as the plot twists and revelations have proved to have been a great adventure yet again.

“You think the dead we loved truly ever leave us? You think that we don't recall them more clearly in times of great trouble?” - Albus Dumbledore

This book was probably the most exciting one yet, and I had to force myself to put it down so I could sleep... I was teary eyed towards the end and I love books that evoke that kind of joy. A joy of having been through an adventure and learning as you go.

“It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” ... It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”
- Albus Dumbledore

This really got to me. As always Dumbledore never fails to let Harry see what matters in the end.

This book is a great read, a bit slow and dry at the beginning, but that's probably just my hunger for action and impatience. Nonetheless, a great adventure to read through.
