See allI actually liked the first book better. Perhaps it was the shifting of locations and time or the odd assimilation of periods in time that seemed to come together, but I didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as the first. Overall it was a good follow up to the first and certainly set the tone for the rest of the series to come. I'm still not sold on the series as a whole, it just seems to be all over the place to me, but I'm this far in so I'm certainly going to see it through.
Finally feel like where getting somewhere with this series. This was probably my favorite so far, with progress made towards the plot and a good story that seemed to make sense.
Liked the back story on Roland and learning more about the land before it went to hell. Then somewhere along the line the wizard of oz got mixed up in it and the whole thing was lost to me. This whole series has been all over the place for me. Sometimes it's great, then a couple hundred pages later I'm thinking WTH.
Overall this was one of the better ones in my opinion of only for the back story, the rest of it was just strange.
