Catch-22

Catch-22

Thoroughly enjoyable; deceptively comedic. Heller's masterful writing kept me laughing, even at things I shouldn't be laughing at. Great critique of war and its intricacies, absolutely succeeded at creating a minor crisis of conscious once I was finished. I found the characters extremely compelling.

Why Nations Fail: The Origins of Power, Prosperity, and Poverty

Acemoglu succeeds at providing insight into his titular question in this book. Though his extensive use of historical context can be dry at times, if you manage to power through it, you will be rewarded with a greater understanding of the world. This read certainly made me think about the institutional differences across nations in a much more deep, deliberate manner.
