If you are looking to get a really brief overview of British history with a sprinkle of British humour then I'd highly recommend this book. If you want anything more in depth or on the serious side then this probably isn't the right choice for you.

This is a bit of a weird book. The reader is mostly in the head of the main character and you follow her inner thoughts as much as the storyline it's self. If you like a story with a bit of a strange vibe, where you really are not sure where the story is going (a lot like real life) and you like a plot about mother - daughter relationship and how screwed up they can become then you may well also very much enjoy this book.

Great bedtime reading.

It's a storyline that has been used to many times but I still enjoyed the read and found the characters very relatable.

Not the best for represention but given the year it was written I think it can be forgiven (just). All things considered it's really not a bad read at all if you are in the mood for a short historic sapphic vampire story.
