i dont really write reviews so ill really only be listing things that i didn't like abt this book. tho, i would like to mention that i rlly liked the part towards the end where lily empathizes w her mother
anyways, lets begin:
1) ryles and lilys relationship did feel like it moved too quickly. i believe they actually got married just after 6 months of dating?
2) atlas choosing to keep living because he thought that lily looked pretty? i like to suspend my belief when reading fiction but this was just a tad much
3) ugh, i didnt like that atlas and lily got involved while lily was still 15 and he a legal adult. trust me, the gap of maturity between an 18 yr old and a 15 yr old is a lot larger than it seems (also, the way he kept asking abt when she was turning 16 and about any other age related topics was a bit icky)
4) the gay friend who then promptly fucks off in the rest of the book. do /not/ like that trope
5) and finally, the quote abt how “there are no such thing as bad people. only people who sometimes do bad things” or something like that, my memorys not the best.
all in all, the book was okay. there were parts that i got bored in but that isnt such a bad thing and i did like most of the writing. the thing abt the reader getting to fall for ryle along w lily was also done pretty well! wouldve worked on me if i didnt have a habit of listing down red flags whenever i see a male ya character (specifically in the romance genre)
