Unnecessarily long with too much going on. There's so much that just feels like filler. Wtf was that ending even? I'm so confused! 😵‍💫 I enjoyed this one more than the 2nd book though. Now to play the waiting game for book 4...

Very quick read, focused on Mel's book and the fallout from it. Mostly just talking & politics. I'm a proud member of the Arabella fan club & look forward to her story being next in the series.

Better than the first book, has an actual plot with real dangers. I liked the Arabella POVs best.

Fantastic read starring creepy magic books that activate their powers with the user's blood. Starts a little slow as there are 3 characters/story lines to introduce, but once things converge the plot moves fast and hard. I guessed the ending but this was still a really good book! Perfect spooky vibes 💀

I had a suspicion about Taropat almost right away that proved to be true. The book was sluggish at times and the plot jumps around a little too much. Still, I liked this one better than Sea Dragon Heir, and once the main story got rolling I became quite invested.

I read this book when it first came out and the imagery of the black & white circus has stuck with me ever since. This reread was just as enchanting and magical as the first time I picked it up. It is full of beautiful writing that creates a vivid, striking world. Would happily read a third time.

I devoured this book. A really enjoyable read that feels like a fairytale. I loved the dynamic between the characters.
