Absolutely fantastic entry into an absolutely fantastic series. I honestly did not think that Jim could improve over Battle Ground but he definitely did with Twelve Months. It covers the year after the Battle of Chicago and every step is such a good read.

Great addition to the series, though I think the siege portion lasts too long despite being important to the plot long term
