This was massively over-hyped. Timeline of plot development too unrealistic (in terms of FMC and MMC relationship development), therefore it was not satisfactory and felt too forced.
The ending was not well thought through even considering that you might explain bad execution on character's lack of stability and raising awareness of loosing power, but that would be searching for any reason to explain bad execution of a plot.
2/3 of the book followed insufferable FMC around, which was salvaged by bits of MMC povs. Then it actually started to get good and truly immersive by the last 1/3 untill our FMC striked again to remind me why I hated her guts from the start.
I didn't hate this book, but it was not what I hoped it would be. Not what it was sold as.
The execution was messy, the plot was so out of place at times that the thoughts of why I am doing this to myself began to take their place.
This book wouldn't be the one I recommend and I'm not sure if I want to come back to this series at this point.
It wasn't a bad book per se, but it was lacking. The plot was quite interesting overall, but the characters dynamic was rather strange and jumping all over the place. Every bad/weak thing about this book could be explained in one way or the other - certain decisions, certain behaviours, certain plot holes, it all could be justified. This aspect just didn't do it for me.
The 1st half of the book was really good, well thought of, well written.
But then she gets premonition out of nowhere that she is saint angel and understands immediately what she has to do and knows how to use her angelic power. Then she grows wings and the first thing the perpetrator says YOU ARE A WITCH??? And it went downhill from there.
I guess the author could definitely make the book better if it wasn't for the frame of limited pages.
Loved the beginning, disappointed by the culmination and ending.
Weakest book in the series.
What in the cringiest Stockholm syndrome was this story?
Zero logic from FMC the way she acts or thinks, constantly contradicting herself (and it has nothing to do with the “enchantment”).
MC had potential which was not executed in this book.
Zero development in the “fated mate” context, rising question why this book got the place in the series at all.
There is some plot, but it's so blatantly underdeveloped..
There is such a big difference in the quality of writing and developing the story and the characters compared to the previous books in the series that this book felt like a waste of time.
It was so hard getting into this book I thought I should just DNF it. But I pushed through the chapters and they surprisingly were getting better and better. The ending was a chef's kiss.
I'm not sure if I would recommend this book to anyone, some people may like it, some may not. To me, at least, it was a hard read but I'm glad I made it to the end.
This book is one of the worst Beauty and the Beast's retellings.
Characters are linear and so underdeveloped it was a pain to follow through with them. There is a base line plot but no filling in between whatsoever. Everything is rushed and the reader is forced to follow through with it.
It felt like the author published their first draft without even reviewing it, for some chapters do not make any sense.
I do not recommend this “book” to anyone, even if you get it for free.
Would definitely DNF this if it wasn't so short.
Another great book from Andy Weir! It's witty, fun and very interesting. Who doesn't like a good sci-fi story about space and saving planets?
