A fun read for the Princess Bride fan. Cary Elwes takes you on a tour down memory lane through the production of the film. The book is peppered with comments from other cast.
If you love Polaroid cameras, this is a great peek into its history (from polarizing car headlights to The Impossible Project). I had no idea how innovative Edwin Land was.
The first book was enjoyable due to the cheesy rip-off nostalgia vibes for being a BTVS fan when the show first aired.
But god am I sick of whiny naive Cat. I get she's young, I get this is her first love, I get she's stubbornly reckless to a dangerous fault. However, the hardest thing to suspend my belief for in this series isn't the vampires, the surprise dream walking second husband, the tiresome my-mother-who-is-a complete-dick-should-always-come-first thread, or the half-bred turned vamp blood sucker (pretty cool actually). It's the relationship between Bones and Cat. She still (after 7 years???) has the emotional bandwidth of a 15 year old and it's so gross toggling that with hot sex scenes.
Maybe I'm too old for this series.
I'm not a gamer but I love me some 80s. If nostalgia is your thing then this book will win you over. Crossing my fingers that the Oasis is created in my lifetime so that I can play Samantha Baker in Sixteen Candles.
