2.5 stars eh, this was alright. I know this was an older cozy, but some of the words used in this novel were really offensive. I'm not sure if I want to keep reading this series.

3.5 stars this is a perfectly good book. It's more of a slower suspense novel and the ending is just as slow? Quiet? It doesn't make you go “wow”. One thing that bugged me was the way these 12-13 yo kids talked and thought. They were way too mature just to move along the plot and it always took me out of the story.

Reread 2023: this was just as good and hot as the first time around!

4.25 stars I've been meaning to read this for so long, and when I saw it was narrated by Abby Craden I couldn't resist! This book was so sad and painful but also beautiful and hopeful. I enjoyed every minute of it. Stellar performance from Abby Craden as always <3
