This was one of the most important books that I read in my entire life. It changed me in so many ways that is indescribable.
Full of knowledge on how to live well, in peace with your mind and soul. How to be good (in a sense of justice). How to not fall into the traps of your own mind. How to be polite, to live in the present, to not be hunted by the past or worried about the future.
How to connect with nature and other people. How to be honorable and respectful.
The stoicism has a lot to teach, especially in this world we live where people tend to give more meaning to things that one should.
It took me almost a year to read this. (Actually listen to). Because every letter Seneca writes to Epicurius is so full of wisdom that you need time to digest.
Everyone should read this book. Is so full of knowledge that I can't even know where I start this.
One thing is for sure. If you want to deconstruct all the things you believe about humans, how we see the world, religions, capitalism, socialism and other stories that we tell ourselves, you should read it.
this is really an excelent book about creating good, reusable and disconnected from infrastructure details code.
If clean code was all about the code, this is about how you structure the code to make it more reusable, framewoderk independent and solid.
If you think MVC and Rails or Django or Phoenix is the way to go for a web project, think again with this book.
Great software does not rely on any framework. It just uses the framework when it needs.
Definitivamente entre os top cinco livros de “ficção” que ja li na vida. A riqueza de detalhes é tamanha qie chega a ser absurda. Obviamente sou leigo em história e não pesquisei à fundo todos os pressupostos documentos relatados no rodapé das páginas do livro.
Mas, se partíssemos da idéia de que a história é verdadeira, o Jesus relatado no livro é um ser extraordinário, ao mesmo tempo que humilde e bondoso, inteligente e educado, sem nenhum tipo de preconceito e com um coração do tamanho do universo.
Os diálogos entre o “astronauta” e Jesus são tão espetaculares que chega a ser difícil não acreditar que eles realmente aconteceram. A destreza e riqueza de detalhes do processo de crucificação, de Jesus, todo o sofrimento ao qual o mesmo foi submetido é tamanha, que por muitas vezes me peguei aos prantos e pensativo. Por muitas vezes o livro “desmente” a Bíblia Sagrada e relata o que lá está escrito e o que “realmente” aconteceu.
Aconselho à todos que queiram ler como uma obra de ficção. Tenho certeza que se surpreenderão.
The book is ok. Do not give much detail of how to create the habit.
But some takeaways are ok. The author talks about the initial phase when you are trying to create the habit you need to do what he calls loading phase where you need to use all your willpower to stick to the habit.
Overal the book is ok.
Excelente livro para quem quer entender mais sobre os efeitos da meditação na mente, no nosso corpo e como a meditação pode nos ajudar a sermos pessoas mais focadas, mais pacientes, mais bondosas e mais altruístas.

Excellent book for anyone who wants to understand more about the effects of meditation on the mind, on our body and how meditation can help us to be more focused, patient, kinder and more altruistic people.
The author writes very clearly and the book is ok in explaining some techniques about memorisation. But I thought that would be a lot more techniques to practice and the book get lost explaining the life of some well known people who was already subject of study in other books.
It's an ok book. I would recommend.
Demorei pra comprar esse livro porque achei que poderia ser só uma conversa fiada ou encheção de linguiça. Ou pior, um livro falando sobre como a autora se deu bem e ponto.
Me enganei redondamente.
O livro é bem estruturado, segue a estrutura de 10 passos o que é muito bom. (Embora tenha na capa e no titulo, nunca confio). Os passos são bem pensados um sendo construído com base no anterior e o livro possui muitos insights interessantes.
Tecnicamente eu não aprendi muito com este livro pois já compreendia os assuntos abordados. Mas outras coisas como, como melhorar o seu planejamento, como tirar do papel e, principalmente, aquele tapa na cara de que só pensar que vai dar certo não quer dizer que vai dar.
Dou muito mais valor para o meu dinheiro após ler este livro.
Principalmente a regra de traduzir o valor em horas trabalhadas. Excelente.

The writer, of course, is by all means, outstanding and I loved the story. But this is not a story that makes you jump out of your chair. It feels like he was trying to tell a story about loneliness and all the ways you can be in solitude.
It feels far-fetched sometimes.
Overall I think this book is great. Maybe I like other genres or other writing styles better.
I can't really say that I understood any of the math in the book.
But it's a delightful journey to see the struggles and the epiphany that comes when creating a mathematical theorem. I love the book. Top 3.
