I wanted to like this book a lot more than I actually did. A lot of formalities, unique words, and old styles of phrasing pulled me out of the story. The story itself was really engaging and interesting, but I was bouncing off from the prose so hard. I don't recall if the previous books in the series were written the same way, but if they were on it could easily just be a mood thing.
