I suspect this was a much better book compared to my own enjoyment of it. I just simply really wasn't in the mood for it during most of my time reading yet it was a book club book so I couldn't simply set it aside for later. Overall, it had a lot going for it and I hope to re-read it at some point in the future on more of my own terms.

I'm still not that impressed with Zachary Quinto's narration, but I did enjoy the story. I expect it's going to seem very dated eventually though with all of its Covid references. Glad I finished out the series at least.

This was a solid entry in the series. A lot of good progress is made and it never feels like things are happening solely to stretch out the plot unlike other series in the genre. Excited to continue seeing where this series goes.

Parts of this book really worked for me and parts were a bit of a slog. As it's practically a short story, the slog was at least over very quickly. The underlying mystery of what's going on in Area X was definitely intriguing and the author did a great job of building suspense and tension throughout, but I largely came away wanting more. Just not quite enough to continue reading more of the series.

Pretty good entry in the series though some of the power creep was very noticeable in this one and it didn't feel quite as earned as in the previous ones. Still overall an engaging story that was fun to read.
