It’s hard to put my finger on why this isn’t a 5-star book. It might just be in comparison to how good books 1 and 2 were that made this one feel slightly off. Regardless, an extremely satisfying conclusion to the trilogy and an enjoyable read. As a whole, the trilogy is certainly worth reading!

The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder

While this is written in a much different style than I expected, I really enjoyed the journey of reading it. Stories about the human character in survival situations are almost always interesting and the author does a wonderful job of pulling all the disparate accounts together to tell one compelling narrative. Definitely worth a read!

This was just… bad. There’s really no way to sugarcoat it. The plot’s a mess, the characters are unlikable, and even the dragons aren’t enough to rescue what’s ultimately a very flawed book. I’ll unfortunately probably continue this series just to see where it all ends up, but do yourself a favor and get out now if you’re able.

This was an interesting and engaging listen that was technically very well done. Lots of great voice work and special effects. What it needed was just to be longer. I don’t feel satisfied with what I got and not in a “I want more of this world” way, but rather a “that’s it?” way. Still at only like 1:15 long, it doesn’t feel like wasted time at least.

Wrath of the Triple Goddess

While this was still a fun world to be in, something about it just felt a little more childish than the first entries in the series. I know they’re written for a younger age group, but I’ve gone back and re-read the original stories and they felt more “adult” than this one. Still absolutely worth reading if you’re a fan of the series.
