The Book That Wouldn’t Burn

I’ve yet to be disappointed by anything Mark Lawrence puts out and this is no exception. At times the pace was a little slow and it took a bit for everything to really get rolling, but when the action started, it really didn’t let up. Feels like a book that’ll really benefit from a re-read to pick up on any foreshadowing that was missed too. I am so intrigued by this world and this story and truly I have no concept of where it’s going to go from here, but I’m ready for the ride.

It’s actually so nice to have a litRPG series complete in a trilogy. What a breath of fresh air! The same issues of the previous books in the trilogy are still very much there, but having a completed storyline really helps this book out.

While this is mainly just a fun, popcorn read with way too much childish humor that will grate on you after a while, there are some genuinely good plot elements showing up. I’ve read worse books for sure. Just turn your brain off and enjoy.
