Only a handful of interesting moments, fairly by-the-numbers overall. Lots of jarring anachronisms (lots of the scientific terminology is just barely plausible to have existed at the time, but ‘barely plausible' is not fantastic world building)
Builds up a nice mystery, but no satisfying ending. The bulk of the book is structured like a script, with indented text and all that, which was all gross and thin on a phone screen. I suppose I did this to myself, though
