Was going so well until kristen wouldn't just stop acting immature and have the conversation with josh and then when she finally does, she's made the decision that they cant be together. I had high hopes for this because my last abby jimminez book was a 5 star but extremely disappointed. The banter and the chemistry was great between the mcs but the lack of proper communication really put me off

Hello, this book was ah-mazing. The best one of the series. Binge read this in 3.5 hours. As soon as Elsie Silver replied to the question “who do you cast as beau?” with “jensen ackles” i know I was a goner. I knew this will be my favorite book. but what i didn't know that beau will become my second book boyfriend.

The only reason i decided to read this book was because i wanted to read lucian's book, but i felt that it will feel weird because i wouldn't have majority of the answers that took place in this one. And the reason i didn't want to read this because i cared very less for Nash but also, i pictured him with a beer belly and a mustache, so it was hard to find him bits of hot. But as I read this book, i fell in love with the characters and Lucy Score's writing in this is so good and well worded. It was equal parts funny and angsty, and hot. However, what really put me off (other than how fucking long it was) was the third act conflict was a break up. And the reason was none other than the same one that Knox used in his book. Both boys clearly need therapy to work out their daddy issues.
This could have been a 4 stars but sadly, the break up scene happened and deduced it to 3.5. I am growing tired of authors using break up as the plot twist, or third act conflict. Anything can happen, breaks up are not it. Besides, a couple who can easily break things off is not a great, strong couple you know? How weak your love is that you're walking away because you think you can't help everyone or some shit like that lmao
there was absolutely no chemistry, no spark and nothing that exciting happening between the two main characters. It started out less promising and became even more less promising, does that make sense?
the book began with adalyn who was shamed and banished after a video had gone viral. now, many companies and firms go through such shit but this just didn't make much sense to me. It felt exaggerated and stretched. Her father was a grade A asshole. So she moves into this small town for an assignment where she meets or almost runs over her love interest. The love interest is an absolute ass to her. He proudly admitted that he is mean and selfish, and i'm supposed to fall for his “charm” or lack thereof? He literally tells her several times that he wants her gone because she has disrupted his peace. She literally shows him her booking but he is still a bitch about it. And then few chapters in, all of a sudden he wants to fuck her. He is now into her. I got super confused, did i miss a chapter here? Did i misread this entire half of the book? What is going on? Suddenly, he is so protective of her, and wants to care for her??!!
And the third act conflict, my god. That was “bloody” stupid if you ask me. Because cameron literally said tell me more about the rumor and he literally didn't hide it from adalyn, he said he would have told her later. Her reaction was uncalled for. Fine get upset and what not, but really.
it is hard to articulate my exact thoughts and feelings about this book because its very difficult to talk about a book i have loved. i think the author did an outstanding job with depicting how white people think they are helping but are simply being selfish. when the author showed moments like the supermarket scene and how a white guy was encouraging that she post it online, or how the white employer was wondering how to approach her sitter. i couldn't figure out who was worst between alix and kelley, but as it turns out it is both of them.
my utmost favorite character was of course briar and i loved the parts she was in and her relationship with emira <3
This was initially a 3.5 but then i sobbed at the ending (which is very rare that a book would make me cry like this so) it's a 4.
The 1 star that i have taken away from it is because the writing is just plain awful, like it's mind numbing and made my already 2 brain cells shake in their place but here's the thing. This book, unexpectedly, was so fun to read. Starting it with the right mindset, with the knowledge that this is NOT a romance but simply drama and lies and heartbreaks and just every thing you need out of a good show, you have more fun. There were things that bothered me, but because I walked into this with very less expectation, i didn't care. It was addictive. When i wasn't reading it, i was thinking about it.
In fact, i picked it up twice and dropped it both times but third time's the charm right? I just can't believe I actually liked it. I was so sure that i'll hate it, that I will give it 1 star.
Anyway, the cover is fucking hideous.

though i enjoyed this more than the last one, but it was..just too fucking long. like it wouldn't stop, it wouldn't fucking end. i don't understand why the author has dragged on both books for this long, even though this one was shorter than the last but like, for god's sake, just end already.
I feel like this book had a side that could have been explored more with how the captain of the basketball team was half black. like there was so much potential about his need to prove himself instead of the fact he is a homebody. can anyone with sport knowledge confirm if this really affects the performance? like i don't know, given how the author who wrote this is white, maybe she was afraid of exploring that side but it would have been interesting to see it like that instead of simple doubts about him not being a social butterfly hence not a good enough captain.
anyway i no longer care about the third act conflict and i could care less about how they will resolve it

The third act conflict was plain idiotic. The author couldn't come up with something better, like i saw it from the moment Jack sabotaged Alex and Hallie's relationship. And then when she confronts him, he disappears to sort out his fucking feelings for two weeks? What is, fifteen year old with freshly developed emotions? Like that was so stupid. It put me off completely.
On the bright side, the banter was nice.
I had hopes for this one since the last one was bad, but if my rating only increased by half a point then what do i say about that
