Enjoyable compilation of short legends and myths by Mayas.

This book was published in 2018 and we can confidently say that the situation has only gotten worse. TikTok, Facebook and Instagram are out of control rage-bait machines.

These platforms have successfully radicalized certain demographics, and it is impossible to distinguish what is true from what is manufactured. Bots drive trends and narratives while short-form content sucks the time out of people’s days.

Humans are not meant for this kind of life. When will we reach the turning point?

I have started to read Jane Austen from her oldest work to the most “recent”. I read Lady Susan and now Sense and Sensibility.

I enjoyed the story itself and the plot twists of each sister’s storyline. Although Marianne was depicted as rebellious, I believe her behavior to be understandable. Her pain and hopelessness were relatable, we will all probably be there at least once in our lives, and she is a teenager after all.

On the other hand, I found the writing quite redundant. Characters take a lot of pages to recount events… eh. Additionally, I would have liked to be “shown” or “experience” events, instead of having them told to the main characters by third parties. I understand this story started a series of letters between the two sisters, however, the narration turned a bit tedious at times.
