Brainwyrms is raw and transgressive, messed up and human, twisted and dark. In my experience, the characters are a little hard to warm up to since they are horny 24/7 and I can't relate at all, but at their core they are real humans starving for love and trying to get it the only way society has led them to believe they can get it. They are as surreal and disjointed as they are human, swallowed in an obscure world of addiction, obscenity and rubbish.
There's some pages that are hard to follow and the non-linear storytelling adds to this. At times the story seems to not move forward because it spends so much time moving back and forth in its non-linearity. There's an insane amount of trigger warnings from suicide, self-harm, body horror, bodily fluids, zoophilia(?), mental disorders, child abuse (physical and sexual), etc. So be warned of all these and more.
