James Rollins is the pen name of James Paul Czajkowski, an American author of thriller, adventure, and fantasy novels. Born on August 20, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, Rollins is best known for his Sigma Force series, which blends elements of scientific discovery, historical mystery, and fast-paced adventure. Before becoming a full-time writer, he worked as a veterinarian and owned his own veterinary practice in Sacramento, California. His background in science and medicine heavily influences his novels, which often explore cutting-edge technologies, biological threats, and archaeological mysteries. Rollins has also written fantasy novels under the name James Clemens. His works have been translated into more than forty languages and have sold millions of copies worldwide. He continues to publish both thrillers and fantasy, with recent works including entries in the Sigma Force series and the Moonfall Saga.
