She has long been a devotee of history and things of old, and when her family moved to a 200-year-old Quaker home in the Virginia Blue Ridge and Caskie became interested in 19th-century history. So it came as no surprise to her family when she took a career detour off the online super highway and began writing historical romances full time. She published her first novel in 2004.
