Author Bio

He made his debut as a writer at the age of 56 and quickly became one of the most popular authors of thriller novels in Poland. He is the author of books whose protagonist is an expert in historical investigations, Jakub Kania (444, Place and Name, Wotum, Kukły, Kołysanka, Orient; two of them were nominated for the Great Calibre Award), as well as the Polish-Greek thriller saga Katharsis (2023 Great Calibre Readers' Award) and the gripping thriller Nemezis, which reached the final of the lubimyczytac.pl Book of the Year 2023 competition. His output also includes the historical thriller Gambit, nominated for Book of the Year 2019 by lubimyczytac.pl. Six of Maciej Siembieda's books have been sold for screen rights.

Before he started writing novels, he was a historical investigative reporter for three decades. He received the Association of Polish Journalists' award (the so-called Polish Pulitzer) for these three times. Siembieda's trademark is building sensational stories on the basis of real events.
