Murathan Mungan

He was born on April 21, 1955 in Istanbul in Mardin. His father is lawyer İsmail Mungan and his mother is Habibe Mungan. He spent his primary, secondary and high school years in Mardin; He graduated from Mardin High School. Mardin was one of the places he frequently used in his works. He successfully reflected the different cultural structure and human phenomenon of this environment in his works. The author settled in Ankara in 1972. After completing his bachelor's and master's degrees at Ankara University, Faculty of Languages, History and Geography, Department of Theatre, he left his doctoral studies unfinished and worked as a dramaturg at Ankara State Theaters for six years and at Istanbul City Theaters for three years. Mungan published his first articles in newspapers and magazines in 1975; Throughout his writing life, he wrote works in different genres such as poetry, short stories, novels, essays, theater plays, cinema articles, scripts, fairy tales and song lyrics.
