Sebastian Fitzek, born in Berlin in 1971, is Germany's best-selling author. He studied law, earned a doctorate in copyright law, and worked as a program director for various radio stations in Germany. Since 2006, Fitzek has been writing psychological thrillers, all of which have become bestsellers. His first novel, “Die Therapie” (The Therapy), quickly conquered the bestseller list and was nominated for the Friedrich Glauser Prize for best crime debut.

Fitzek's books have been translated into 36 languages and sold over 19 million copies worldwide. Many of them have now been successfully adapted for film – Die Therapie was produced as a six-part miniseries for Prime Video and immediately rose to number one in the most-watched German-language series, reaching the top 10 in over 30 countries, including the USA. Sebastian Fitzek is also known for his spectacular book presentations, which he stages as shows and fills the largest arenas in Germany.

In 2017, he became the first German author to be awarded the European Prize for Crime Fiction.
