This booklet is part of a series of livestock information books developed to help farmers understand the implications of the Nutrient Management Act, 2002 and the associated regulations and protocols. The act addresses how nutrients, including manure are managed while they are stored and applied to farmland for the purpose of growing agricultural crops. It uses the example of a cow-calf producer who is expanding from 75 head to 160 head. It examines the issues that a farmer needs to bear in mind when completing a nutrient management strategy and/or plan and provides some options for their consideration.
