Oh, the courage it took for Mrs. Klebold to write this book! Her heartbreak and conflicting feelings about what her son did at Columbine that day in 1999 and the aftermath of the event were clear with every word, and my own heart ached as the book progressed. I imagine there were many tough years while the Klebolds were coming to terms with the devastation their son caused. I'm glad she's shared her experience in this book, because I hadn't before considered that the school shooting that affected so many people would have also completely devastated the shooters' families. It makes complete sense now that I've read this book, and it certainly makes me think deeper about tragedies as they pop up in the world.
