A Plastic-Free World for You and Me written by Tracey Szynkaruk is a culturally diverse and climate conscious story for children. There are many suggestions made in the book and one I had not heard of and had to look and see if a refillable shampoo company was in my area - alas there isn't.
BUT...most of the ideas offered by Szynkaruk are available and I know people who have already implemented them in their lives. I love the idea that the kids are teaching their parents to recycle and to purchase items that are earth friendly. The kids learned it in school.
The parents then use positive reinforcement by then having a conversation with Theo, thanking him, and praising him. This is so important for child development.
A Plastic-Free World is drawn in 3-D with a great color palette that is eye catching. There are pages in between the text if parents wish to initiate a free-flowing conversation about what they are seeing.
I think A Plastic-Free World for You and Me should be a staple in every child's personal or public library.
I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.
