A Season of Ashes is a Rimbaud-like telling of what it takes for Ben to become a recognized writer in his own time. Benas life is complicated by doubt, alcoholism, friendship, love, sexual promiscuity, loss and slight madness. His experiences, an imaginary dead girlfriend, talent, his lover Rosemary, and her literary professor lead him to a position most writers only dream about. But, for Ben, having oneas dreams fulfilled is not quite what the artist envisioned.
